This paper goes into depth about the Police Director scandal and how the current mayor of Elizabeth, Chris Bollwage, mishandled the situation. The Police Director, James Cosgrove, was accused of making sexist and racist comments to his staff and other police officers. Mayor Bollwage was criticized for being silent for almost two months and waiting until the attorney general officially stepped in to begin any action. This paper goes deep into Mayor Bollwage's leadership style and how it affected a toxic environment in the police department and the entire city of Elizabeth. 

This paper looks at how police unions are run in the United States. During the Black Lives Matter movement, many questioned why the officers who murdered innocent black people could keep their jobs or be on leave with their benefits, even going as far as to keep their jobs. Many experts say that this has to do with Police Unions and how they protect bad cops. Many experts believe that because of these union contracts, misconduct within the police department has increased, which is why reform has been difficult. We also look into the double standards of how unions are viewed from one professionality to another.
